Error Modeling in Distribution Network State Estimation Using RBF-Based Artificial Neural Network

State estimation is essential to access observable network models for online monitoring and analyzing of power systems. Due to the integration of distributed energy resources and new technologies, state estimation in distribution systems would be necessary. However, accurate input data are essential for an accurate estimation along with knowledge on the possible correlation between the real and...

Normalization and error estimation for biomolecular expression patterns

We describe methods for the analysis expression patterns based on a vector representation for intensities. Normalization for multiple experiments is iterative and is obtained by identifying a vector that optimally correlates expression patterns. Error estimates for intensities are obtained by analyzing deviations in expression relative to the correlation vector. A normalization method for apply...

Biomolecular calculations based on electron-correlated fragment molecular orbital methods

Kitaura et al. [1] have proposed an ab initio FMO method by which large molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids can be easily treated with chemical accuracy. In the ab initio FMO method, a molecule or a molecular cluster is divided into fragments, and the MO calculations on the fragments (monomers) and the fragment pairs (dimers) are performed to obtain the total energy that is expressed a...

Systematic Error Modeling and Bias Estimation

This paper analyzes the statistic properties of the systematic error in terms of range and bearing during the transformation process. Furthermore, we rely on a weighted nonlinear least square method to calculate the biases based on the proposed models. The results show the high performance of the proposed approach for error modeling and bias estimation.

Foundations of Biomolecular Modeling

The 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Martin Karplus, Michael Levitt, and Arieh Warshel for "development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems." The honored work from the 1970s has provided a foundation for the widespread activities today in modeling organic and biomolecular systems.
